Clipping the wire...  ·  I then use a pair of dikes to snip of the wire as close as I can so that I don't sacrifice any more than necessary. The piece of wire remaining through the wood can be pushed through with the wire left in your hand. It is this short wire with the shepards crook that is left inside the hull. I'm sure a purist could reach the shepards hook and extract it with a narrow tweezer if desired.
